Nationals’ T-shirts
Attention Midlands Nationals Team members:
See below a copy of the design of the event t-shirt, if anyone is interested in last minute orders for the t-shirts ($30) or hoodies ($60). The kids style will be plain red without the white stripes on the sleeves and sides.
When people ordered hoodies at the event we told them that they wouldn’t have the South Island logo on the back – we assumed that people wouldn’t want the logo as it’s our region’s logo but a lot of people seemed to be disappointed about that. If people would like the logo on the back they can, however it will be another $5 for the print as we didn’t include it when we costed them originally.
Please get back to us if they have any more orders or would like the South Island logo on their hoodies by next Friday (16th October).
People who order clothing now should please pay into the South Island bank account before Friday 16th. The bank account number is Westpac, 03 0854 0725654 00.
Thanks all for your help.
Regards
Helen Caley ( South Island Nationals committee) Â email : secretary.southisland@itfnz.org.nz

Get REAL is the complete Reality Based Self Defence seminar.
The focus of Get REAL is simple: To enhance your survivability against real world violence. That’s it. That’s all.
This seminar covers all aspects of self-defence against real-life violence from Awareness and Avoidence strategies, De-escalation strategies, Physical retaliation, as well as the Aftermath of violence.
The “Shredder” concept is introduced and explored, as is static weapon attacks.
The extended version of this seminar includes Scenario Replications. Your opponent will always pick and choose the time, place, moment and setting of the confrontation. In this seminar, we anatomise the confrontation from start to finish and include, time frame, mind set, clothing, environment, unforeseen variables, concealed/improvised weapons and more.
The content of this seminar is unique to Protect.
From a participant at Get REAL:
“I have trained in several different martial arts over 17 years and hold black belt level or above in three different arts. This seminar blew me away. It opened my eyes to the realities of the real world and how real self defence works. I have never seen this type of information before, anywhere, and it made me feel privileged to be learning this stuff. My hat is off to Phil and Athena, they have something unique, which will help anybody who learns from them, regardless of previous experience. They are without doubt, the most relevent and knowledgable teachers in the country on this stuff. Thanks again guys, and Phil, thank you for answering what was a very hard question on the spot with such simplicity, that was awesome and appreciated. I highly recommend this seminar to all! – Barry Courtney

Top Pro NZ -Patterns Competition
TOP PRO NZ – “BEST OF THE BEST” PATTERNS COMPETITION:
Description:
This will be a fantastic opportunity for participants to gain plenty of experience in competition and perform their patterns under pressure which will no doubt help prepare students for their next grading. Whilst most tournaments are run in a pyramid system, where competitors may be eliminated after only 1 round, this tournament guarantees each participant a minimum of 4 rounds as divisions will be run in a round robin style.
This tournament will also make Team Patterns accessible not just to Black Belts, but also to Colour Belts. Each team must consist of 5 people and perform one optional pattern, up to the highest pattern of the lowest ranked member of the team. There will be separate divisions for Black Belt and Colour Belts.
